I applied a good coating of Aquaphor around baby’s mouth and outside my areola to try to lessen staining. Put the gentian violet in a small bowl, used Q-Tip swab to paint the inside of baby’s mouth, cheeks, inside of lips and tongue. Did a quick coat on my nipples and then nursed my little one.

Thank you! Did you dilute it? I have its topical solution of 1%.

For us, it was maybe three days? It’s been a while. I was also treating both myself and baby with probiotics. I continued with them for baby at least a month or so…. for myself I take daily. I don’t recall diluting it.

I have gripe water with pro-biotic. And I eat Greek yoghurt daily… maybe I should take a pill instead.

I would get some good refrigerated probiotics for each of you. Baby comes in powder, just make a little paste and let baby suck it off your finger, or you can also apply to your nipple before nursing. For yourself, capsules would be good. I like the Garden of life or Jarrow brand or Udo’s choice. I try to mix it up, so my body is getting a variety. Yoghurt isn’t going to supply enough! Maybe if you made and drank kefir at home, it would do the trick.

I just rubbed it around the mouth and tongue. It was gone in about 24 hours. I put it on my son every 4 to 6 hours.

Dip q-tip into the bottle & put it in babies mouth, swab around or let them suck on it & it will distribute. A little goes a long way. Paint it on your breasts. Your babies face will look like they were involved in a blueberry pie eating contest. Take some pics; you’ll want to remember this 🙂 should be gone in a day or two.

Apply coconut oil around the mouth, use a quip and apply to white spots & no, I didn’t dilute it.
