I’ve read it’s hot for detox with Epsom salt and cold for absorption with mag chloride.

So start hot and wait till the water cools before getting out?

No, two different things. Epsom salt baths are used for detoxing (along with baking soda). Foot baths with mag chloride are used to get more magnesium.

Do you use magnesium chloride only in foot bath? Can you soak in the tub in it?

I soak in a tub magnesium chloride, baking soda and borax once a week. I get in when it’s hot and get out an hour (sometimes 2) later when it’s cool. I binge watch tv episodes on Netflix while I’m in there!

It is recommended to bath with warm water not hot. Be sure to be hydrated before and after. Some use the AC to help with the baths. Some are too weak to do baths (causes fainting) and so do foot baths instead.

All baths/ foot baths should be warm water. Make sure you are well hydrated before and after. If you aren’t you will definitely know it. Epsom salt is detoxing, it has sulfate in it. Magnesium chloride adds magnesium through your skin.

Is it ok to use both Epsom salts and mag chloride together? I used both in my bath last night.

No, it is one or the other not together. And half the mag chloride as the Epsom salt.

I’ve always done Epsom salt for foot baths. Is magnesium salts cheap like Epsom salts are? Can you find at Target or Walmart?

Ancient minerals is one brand… not very cheap though.

I have read temperature 37-38 degrees C for detoxing mag sulphate baths. And duration 40 minutes. First 20 minutes is for detoxing, last 20 min to ensure magnesium in cells. It is recommended, not longer than 30 min. The reason could be to hinder resorption of the toxins released?

And some folks can only tolerate 10-minute baths.
