    It is not routine. This is a recently added vaccine. I have had four pregnancies – the last two being in 2005 and 2007. This vaccine was not available then, and the DTaP is not supposed to be given to those under 10 years. How is it safe for fetuses?

    I know there is a lot of fear among parents of newborns about pertussis (aka, whooping cough). This fear leads parents to get the TdaP vaccine for themselves, and often insist that anyone else who comes into contact with the child should be vaccinated against Pertussis as well.

    These parents (and often their doctors) are unaware that the TDaP vaccine (and the version for children, the DTaP) can make people asymptomatic carriers of whooping cough (see They are not aware that the US Centers for Disease Control has stated that “vaccinated children may be asymptomatic reservoirs for infection” (see

    Even the FDA put out a press release with information about a baboon study that showed, again, the vaccinated individuals (or baboons in this case) can harbor the pertussis bacteria in their throats for several weeks and even pass the infection on to others, all without ever knowing they were sick: “Animals that received an acellular pertussis vaccine had the bacteria in their airways for up to six weeks and were able to spread the infection to unvaccinated animals.”

    This research suggests that although individuals immunized with an acellular pertussis vaccine may be protected from disease, they may still become infected with the bacteria without always getting sick and are able to spread the infection to others, including young infants who are susceptible to pertussis disease”.

    Just to repeat: anyone who receives the pertussis / whooping cough vaccine can become infected with pertussis without showing symptoms of infections. These people can then transmit the infection to others, including newborn infants and others who are most at risk.

    In this regard, it seems that getting the whooping cough vaccine puts young babies at INCREASED risk. The unvaccinated person who contracts pertussis is likely to feel sick and thus will know to stay away. The vaccinated person who contracts pertussis will not know they are infected, and thus will not know they are contagious and possibly passing the illness on to a vulnerable young child.

    Based on CDC statistics and VAERS reports, the DTaP vaccine has caused more deaths each year than Pertussis.

    Others would say that deaths from Pertussis would climb if we stopped vaccinating. But the data don’t appear to support this. See this graph showing that deaths from pertussis in the US had declined to about 1 in 100,000 BEFORE the DPT vaccine was introduced in the 1950s.

    ROUTINE as in they gets $$$ for giving it when it has not been tested in pregnant women!! Start with A then work way through alphabet then make the decisions by “B” in time you will know. Read this:

    How much Aluminum is allowed into the child’s bodies:

    The concentration of aluminum in natural waters (e.g., ponds, lakes, streams) is generally below 0.1 milligrams per liter (mg/L). People generally consume little aluminum from drinking water. Water is sometimes treated with aluminum salts while it is processed to become drinking water. But even then, aluminum levels generally do not exceed 0.1 mg/L. Several cities have reported concentrations as high as 0.4– 1 mg/L of aluminum in their drinking water.

    Consumer Products People are exposed to aluminum in some cosmetics, antiperspirants, and pharmaceuticals such as antacids and buffered aspirin. • Antacids have 300–600 mg aluminum hydroxide (approximately 104– 208 mg of aluminum) per tablet, capsule, or 5 milliliters (mL) liquid dose. Little of this form of aluminum is taken up into the bloodstream.• Buffered aspirin may contain 10–20 mg of aluminum per tablet • Vaccines may contain small amounts of aluminum compounds, no greater than 0.85 mg/dose.

    So doing some math — the following are examples of weight with their corresponding maximum levels of aluminum, per the FDA:

    8 pound, healthy baby: 18.16 mcg of aluminum
    15 pound, healthy baby: 34.05 mcg of aluminum
    30 pound, healthy toddler: 68.1 mcg of aluminum
    50 pound, healthy child: 113 mcg of aluminum
    150-pound adult: 340.5 mcg of aluminum
    350-pound adult: 794.5 mcg of aluminum

    So how much aluminum is in the vaccines that are routinely given to children?

    * Hib (PedVaxHib brand only) – 225 mcg per shot
    * Hepatitis B – 250 mcg
    * DTaP – depending on the manufacturer, ranges from 170 to 625 mcg
    * Pneumococcus – 125 mcg
    * Hepatitis A – 250 mcg
    * HPV – 225 mcg
    * Pentacel (DTaP, HIB and Polio combo vaccine) – 330 mcg
    * Pediarix (DTaP, Hep B, and Polio combo vaccine) – 850 mcg

    At birth, most children are given hepatitis B vaccination. The amount of aluminum in the Hepatitis B vaccine alone is almost 14 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF ALUMINUM THAT IS FDA-APPROVED.

    At well-child check-ups, it’s common for 2 months, 4 months, 6 months etc., appointments to include up to 8 vaccinations that add up to more than 1,000 mcg of aluminum. Look at the chart above and notice that that amount isn’t even safe for a 350-pound adult. And many children get up to 8 vaccinations a visit several times a year!

    According to the FDA and the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), what happens if a child receives more than the maximum required dose of aluminum?

    * Aluminum builds up in the bones and brain and can be toxic.
    * Aluminum can cause neurological harm.
    * Aluminum overdose can be fatal in patients with weak kidney’s or kidney disorders or in premature babies. (How many children are tested to see if their kidneys are functioning properly before they are vaccinated? Could this also be why the Hepatitis B shot, given to infants at birth, has been linked to SIDS? Neonatal Deaths After Hep B vaccination.)

    I’m 35 weeks, and my clinic was pushing me to get it done! I refused because they couldn’t provide an insert and/or a valuable reason as to why get it done other than “its good for me.”

    I’m sorry, but if you can’t do better than that, I WILL NOT inject something into my body or newborn without further information. Plus I was advised that the Tdap vaccine is NOT tested on pregnant or breastfeeding mother! So do your research because ultimately the decision is YOURS not there’s and don’t let them tell you otherwise!

    Just because it is their “routine,” doesn’t mean you HAVE TO accept it. Many things are “routine” or “standard” practice. It does not mean they are evidence-based or necessary AT ALL. Our medical system and maternity care system is so stuck in the old days (myths, superstition), words can’t even… Many of us decline many routine interventions on our bodies because they are simply not in OUR or our babies best interest.

    Don’t get it. Here’s the insert for Tdap booster saying when you get this shot, and you’re pregnant let Sanofi Pasteur know so they can find out what happens to your baby.

    Here’s the spot on the insert saying no animal fertility tests have been done and they studied pregnant rabbits so you as a human should be ok.????????‍♀️
