I’d like to make garlic-infused olive oil for ear infections. Is it best to let the garlic sit raw in the olive oil or do I slow cook it in the crockpot?
It will take too long to sit raw and will go bad. Infuse for 2 hrs in the pot on the stove, do not cook. Just warm oil on stove with the garlic clove in it then strain. Put drops in the ear after oil has cooled and put cotton balls in-ear. Its only good for about a week, so just make a little when you need it.
Also, grow your own garlic or get an organic one from a health food store. My mom recently made some up for her ears. She has great success with this. Garlic is antifungal and antibacterial. Awesome stuff.

Why is it only good for a week? I ferment garlic in honey and its properties are good for months.
Honey lasts forever, but its botulism. I've always read and have been told garlic in oil won't last long, a week was safe if kept in the refrigerator.
